WIG WAM
WIG WAM was founded in Norway in 2001 and three years later they released their debut album 667..”The Neighbor of the Beast”. A year later they won the Norwegian final in the Eurovision Song Contest with their smash hit “In my Dreams”, which topped the Norwegian charts for 6 week and stayed at the top 10 for 19 weeks.
In 2005 alone Wig Wam did more than 170 shows for more than 300.000 people and made attendance records on several occasions. Wig Wam also had a great following in Japan where the band did their first tour in 2007 with sold out venues, well documented on their DvD/CD “Live in Japan/Live in Tokyo. The band also toured Germany with “Gotthard”, in Sweden with “Alice Cooper” and headlined many big shows in most of Europe. In 2010 their first single from the album “Non Stop Rock’n Roll” “Do you wanna taste it” topped the charts and became yet another hit for the band.
After the Norwegian Glam-metal band Wig Wam’s hit song ‘Do Ya Wanna Taste It’ was used in James Gunn’s hit series Peacemaker (2022), the track basically blew up on streaming charts all over the world. The Norwegian metal band had broken up and were days from being dropped by their agent when 'Do Ya Wanna Taste It' was tapped for Peacemakers iconic opening. The song entered the Spotify Global viral chart at #9 and several others all over the world. The band got back together and has since then released an album and gone on a world tour.
