Gusten Dahlqvist
Gusten Dahlqvist is a versatile, allround songwriter and producer in Stockholm, who recently entered into his first exclusive publishing deal as he signed with Cosmos Music in November 2020.
After graduating from Musikmakarna (Songwriters Academy), Gusten participated in several writing camps in the Cosmos studio complex which resulted in a couple of DJ releases, with artists such as Charming Horses, Deniz Koyu/Ralph Felix and Josef Bamba which collectively have racked up some 12 million Spotify streams.
Since then Gusten has worked with various Swedish and international artists & songwriters. In the beginning of 2019, he participated in Melodifestivalen (Swedish song contest) with the song “Känner Dig” performed by Anton Hagman. Closely working with the Electronic, edge-sounding artist COBRAH, Gusten was a part of writing and producing her Ep “ICON” and singles like “WET” and “DEBUT”. Cobrah had a breakthrough year in 2021, landing Gusten’s co-written songs for sync deals in various TV-series and a Mugler online fashion campaign. ”Good Puss” was also picked upp by big label APG and the tune found its way to a huge number of playlists such as Spotify’s 5M+ followed ”Mint”, and in early 2023 Cobrah’s self-titled EP had racked up over 21 million Spotify streams. “Good Puss” also got placed in the trailer for Hollywood film “Bodies Bodies Bodies”.
In February 2022 a remix of "Good Puss" which featured American rapper cupcakKe was released.
He got interested in the globally expanding world of Kpop, and have had cuts with artists Lim Jimin and 1the9, and also landed a prominent cut on the multi-million selling album ”Map of the Soul:7” with international superstars BTS, as co-writer of ”We Are Bulletproof: Eternal” which in early 2022 has close to 150 million Spotify streams.
Gusten has also had Kpop title tracks with Park Ji Hoon (of Wannaone fame) and new girl group H1-Key, as well as 2 album cuts with Mirae.
He produced and co-wrote “Domino” with ITZY, whose album “Checkmate” sold over 1.1 million physical units and scored a top10 album on Billboard 200 in the US, and had “Stardust” placed with Monsta X member Kihyun on his solo album “Youth”.
