Maria Marcus has made a multi platinum career as a writer and producer for others, mainly in countries like Japan and South Korea. With over 9 million sold albums she continues to write and produce for artists like Red Velvet, Monsta X, Oh My Girl!, Happiness, Sudannayuzuyullu, Exile Tribe, Namie Amuro and many others.
One of Maria’s highlights in her career was the song and production "Listen” that was successfully synched in the commercial for James Cameron's TV series "Years of living dangerously”, featuring Harrison Ford, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Matt Damon, Jessica Alba amongst others and the song was released by US Idol contestant Haley Reinhart. 2018 ended with 3 placements on Namie Amuro's album Finally that turned out to be the second most selling album worldwide right after Taylor Swift.
During the years she has produced and written for a variety of artists also in Europe including T-Pain (US), Afrojack (ND), X-factor finalist Rachel Adedeji (UK), Idol winner (NO), X-factor winner Edita Abdieski (DE).
Alongside of that she is releasing her own material. “No Place Like Home” is a song she wrote during Christmas 2019; a song that struck a chord in her and felt too personal to give away. “It’s a song about finding your way back home, in yourself, in life, in love”, says Maria. That song has been used in TV ads for interior design firm HEMTEX for a few years
Maria started off 2022 strongly and reached a new peak in her career when co-writing BTS member Jung Kook’s original soundtrack single ”Stay Alive”, with production from bandmate SUGA, from Webtoon hit ”7FATES CHAKHO”, making a record breaking #3 entry on Spotify’s Global chart in February. At the end of 2022 it had reached 180 million streams on Spotify.
In March 2022 Maria scored her 2nd Spotify Global chart placement (#56) with Red Velvet's single "Feel My Rhythm" from the mini-album of same title, which recorded sales of around 700.000 copies, with the title song streaming over 90 million each on both Spotify and biggest Korean platform Melon before the end of the year.
Maria also co-wrote song ”Brave” on the album ”Between 1&2” with girl group Twice, which sold over a million copies and placed #3 on Billboard album chart in the US, and Triple S debut single “Generation” which hit the Spotify Viral Global chart at #12,
